Social Prescribing
Social Prescribing
“A prescription is something your doctor gives you to get medicine. But, what on earth is social prescribing?”
Social prescribing is a way to connect people struggling with their mental health with access to group activities in their communities eg. arts, walking or gardening.
One way in which you can sign up to Kaleido Arts for Wellbeing workshops is to be referred to us by a service such as your GP or local social prescribing service. You can also self-refer as we don’t want anyone to feel locked out!
Workshops will usually be free for participants, though you may be encouraged to pay-it-forward (or donate what you can) to help us help as many as possible over the long term. We can discuss this on a case-by-case basis.
NB. You can refer to our services whenever you like, but you will be seen more quickly if specific workshops are coming up in your area. At the moment, the majority of our workshops are Sheffield based. Keep an eye on our ‘Groups’ pages for upcoming workshops.
